S2 E9: Creating Noise with Cathy Olson & Erica Ramon

Cathy Applefeld Olson

Cathy Applefeld Olson is a veteran entertainment journalist and wirter for Billboard and founder of Hollywood & Mind. After decades covering music and culture, she began to see a deeper thread in her conversations with artists—the role of mental health behind the work. That led to her Forbes column Mind Reading and to building Hollywood & Mind, a platform focused on bringing the industry together to reduce stigma and support wellbeing.

Erica Ramon

Erica Ramon is a seasoned music executive and artist manager with over 20 years of experience working closely with artists including Fergie. Through that proximity, she saw firsthand the emotional pressures behind creative success. She now brings that perspective to Calm and Collected Music Group, where she’s helping connect music and wellness through projects designed to support mental health.

Together, Cathy and Erica offer two perspectives on the same issue—one from listening, one from lived experience—coming together to explore how the industry can better understand and support mental health.
