S2 E1: Creating Noise with Lauren Christy

Lauren Christy is a London-born singer, songwriter, producer, and composer who has made a major impact as a pop songwriter. She began her career as a recording artist in the early ’90s with Mercury Records, releasing two acclaimed albums and earning an American Music Award nomination for Best New Artist. But behind the spotlight, she discovered her real passion — writing and producing — and soon became one of the most influential creative voices in contemporary music. She has had billions of streams!

In 1999, Lauren co-founded the trailblazing production and songwriting team The Matrix, whose work with Avril Lavigne — including the hits “Complicated,” “Sk8er Boi,” and “I’m With You”— defined a generation. The Matrix went on to shape records for Christina Aguilera, Jason Mraz, Britney Spears, Shakira, and Rihanna, earning multiple Grammy nominations, an Ivor Novello Award, and BMI Songwriter of the Year. Lauren remains one of the few women ever nominated for Producer of the Year at the Grammys.

Today, Lauren continues to write, produce, and mentor new talent, with credits ranging from G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I” to Enrique Iglesias’s “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)”and Iggy Azalea’s “Team.”and Korn.  In 2025, she returned to the mic with Their Hits My Way — her own reinterpretations of the songs that shaped her extraordinary career. A board member of Songwriters of North America, Lauren Christy is not just a hitmaker but a fierce advocate for creative voices everywhere.
